Dimensional Metrology

Dimensional metrology is the science of measurement of physical and geometrical features of objects. It involves the use of various techniques and equipment to ensure that the dimensions, shape, and other properties of manufactured products or components meet the required specifications. Dimensional metrology is crucial in manufacturing industries to ensure consistency and accuracy in the production process. It involves the use of instruments such as calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), laser scanners, and other specialized equipment to measure and analyze the physical characteristics of objects. The data collected through dimensional metrology is used to verify the conformity of a manufactured product or component to the design specifications and to ensure its functional operation. Dimensional metrology is also important in quality control, inspection, and maintenance of complex mechanical systems, including aerospace, automotive, medical devices, and many other industries.

Probe Holder

FISSO Holders in the metrology

The FISSO holder can be securely attached to a surface, allowing for precise and repeatable measurements. There are different types of dial indicator holders available such as magnetic bases, universal stands, and adjustable holders. Magnetic bases are the most common and are designed to attach to metallic surfaces to keep the dial indicator in place.
