Cryotherapy

Cold therapy, also called cryotherapy, refers to the use of cold to treat pain and inflammation and to improve physical performance and regeneration. Cold therapy can be performed in a variety of ways, including immersion in cold water or the use of ice packs or special cold therapy devices that apply cold air or liquid nitrogen to the skin. 

Some uses of cold therapy include: 

  • Treatment of injuries: Cold therapy can help treat acute injuries such as strains, bruises and sprains by reducing pain and swelling. 
  •  Sports medicine: cold therapy can be used in sports medicine to speed recovery after exercise, reduce muscle soreness and improve performance. 
  •  Pain relief: cold therapy can also help with chronic pain conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia and back pain by reducing pain and relieving inflammation. 
  •  Skin care: cold therapy can also be used for cosmetic purposes to improve skin tightening and shrink pores. 

FISSO Articulated Arm in the Cryotherapie
